GEO Audit

Check how ready any website is for AI visibility

Written by Urszula Kaczor

AI models can only mention and cite what they can reach, read, and trust. The GEO Audit checks your website for exactly that. It looks at accessibility for AI bots, content, metadata, and authority, and turns the results into a score and a clear list of things to fix.

You can run it for any domain. That includes your own site and your competitors.

Running an Audit

Open GEO Audit from the Tools menu in the left sidebar. Type the domain you want to check, click Generate Audit, and wait for the status to change to Completed.

Above the field, you'll see how many audits you've used this month. Paid plans include 5 audits per month. Need more? Reach out to your account advisor and we'll add extra audits for you.

Below, the Audits list keeps every audit you've run, with the domain, status, GEO Score, and date. Click the arrow on the right to open the report online.

Your GEO Score

Each audit ends with a GEO Score from 0 to 100 and a rating, for example Good. The score is a weighted mix of five areas.

Crawler Access (25%) checks whether AI bots can enter your site. Content Citability (25%) checks how easy it is for AI to extract and cite your content. Technical SEO (20%) covers headings, metadata, image alt text, and page speed. Schema & Structured Data (15%) checks the markup that helps AI understand who you are. Brand Authority (15%) looks at your presence on platforms like Wikipedia, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, and social media.

What's in the Report

The report opens online, and you can download it as a PDF with the download button inside. It starts with a short summary of where the site stands and what to improve first. Then it goes through each area in detail.

You'll see which AI crawlers are allowed by your robots.txt and which AI platforms are ready to read your site. You'll see how citable your content is, and which elements help AI extract it, such as FAQ sections, comparison tables, and short answer blocks. You'll also see technical findings, the schema types found on your pages, and how visible your brand is across the web.

Action Plan

The report ends with an Action Plan. It lists the most important fixes as Quick Wins, each with a short explanation of what to change and why. It's the best place to start if you're not sure where to begin.

How Often to Run It

We recommend running the audit every 90 days, or after any significant change to your site. From the second audit on, the report also shows what changed since the last one, so you can see whether your fixes made a difference.
