How can I filter the sources?

How to view source data for specific AI models

Written by Urszula Kucińska

Different AI models cite different sources, so being able to filter by model is essential for understanding what influences each one. Chatbeat lets you filter sources by AI model in three places across the app.

In the Project Overview

The Key Sources table in your project's Overview shows which URLs were cited across all your tracked prompts. To see sources for a specific model, click the model dropdown in the top-right corner of the page. By default it's set to "All models," but you can switch to any individual model like GPT, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, Perplexity, or Grok.

In Individual Prompts

When you click on any prompt from the Overview to see its details, you'll find the same model filter available there as well. This lets you see which sources a specific AI model used when answering that particular question, along with how the prompt's position changed over time for that model.

In the Sources Tab

The dedicated Sources tab in your sidebar offers the most comprehensive view of citation data. Here you'll find Citation Trends, Performance by Domain, Top Citation Domains, and more. The same model dropdown appears at the top, letting you filter everything on the page by a single AI model.

Why Filter by Model?

Each AI model has its own preferences when it comes to sources. ChatGPT might rely heavily on review sites and competitor blogs, while Perplexity may favor niche publications and local content. Filtering lets you understand these differences and tailor your content strategy to the models that matter most for your brand.
