Why can't I add a new project/prompt?

What to do when you see a limit warning in Chatbeat

Written by Urszula Kucińska

If you're trying to add a new project or a new prompt and seeing a message that says "You have exceeded the limit or do not have the necessary permissions to perform this action", it means your account has reached its prompt limit for your current plan.

What Causes This

Each Chatbeat plan comes with a set number of prompts and projects. Once you've used all available slots, you won't be able to add more until you free up capacity or expand your limits.

For reference, the current plan limits are: Essential includes 30 prompts and 1 project, Advanced includes 100 prompts and unlimited projects and Business includes 300 prompts and unlimited projects.

How to Fix It

You have a few options.

  • Free up existing capacity. If you no longer need certain prompts or projects, deleting them will release the slots back to your account. See our guide on How Can I Delete a Project? for details. Keep in mind that deleted data cannot be recovered.

  • Upgrade your plan. Moving to a higher tier gives you more prompts, more projects, and in some cases access to additional AI models. You can review available plans in the Subscription section of your sidebar.

  • Purchase additional prompts without upgrading. If you're happy with your current plan but just need a few extra prompt slots, you can buy them as an add-on. To do this, contact your dedicated account advisor, as add-ons are not available for self-service purchase in the tool.

If you're unsure which option is best for your situation, reach out to your account advisor. They can help you find the right setup.
