Focus on High Search Volume Prompts
Every prompt in Chatbeat comes with an estimated Search Volume - our estimation of how popular a given question is likely to be across AI models. Since AI platforms don't share query volume data yet, this metric helps you prioritize which prompts are worth tracking.
As a general rule: start with prompts that have the highest estimated search volume. These represent the questions most likely being asked by real users, which means your ranking on these prompts has the biggest potential impact on your brand's AI visibility.
In the Key prompts table, you can sort by the Search Volume column to quickly identify your most impactful prompts and spot any gaps.
Three Ways to Add Prompts
Chatbeat gives you flexibility in how you build your prompt list. Depending on your workflow, you can choose the method that works best for you.
Option 1: Add Prompts One by One
From your project's Overview tab, click the Add new question button in the top-right corner of the Key prompts section. You'll be taken to a screen where you can type in your custom questions and click Next to add them to your project.
This is great when you have a specific question in mind - for example, a prompt a customer mentioned, or a query you spotted in your marketing research.
Option 2: Import in Bulk via CSV
If you have a larger list of prompts - for instance, from keyword research or a brainstorming session - you can import them all at once. Click the dropdown arrow next to the "Add new question" button and select Import from CSV. This lets you upload a file with multiple prompts in one go, saving you time when working with bigger projects.
Option 3: Use Suggested Prompts
This is often the easiest way to expand your project. Navigate to the Suggested prompts tab in your project's sidebar. Chatbeat automatically generates a list of relevant prompts for your brand, complete with estimated search volumes.
Browse the list, identify the prompts that match your business, and click the add icon next to any prompt to include it in your project instantly - no typing required.
Tip: The Suggested prompts list is sorted by Search Volume by default, so the most impactful opportunities appear at the top.
What Makes a Good Prompt?
When deciding which prompts to track, think from your customer's perspective. Ask yourself: What would someone type into ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity if they were looking for a product or service like mine?
Good prompts tend to fall into a few categories: direct product comparisons (e.g. "What are the best social listening tools?"), alternative searches (e.g. "Brandwatch alternatives?"), use-case questions (e.g. "How can I track my brand online?"), and category queries (e.g. "Best sentiment analysis tool?").
Avoid prompts that are too broad or too niche. A question like "What is marketing?" is unlikely to surface your brand, while something hyper-specific won't give you meaningful data to act on.
Keep Refining Over Time
Your prompt list isn't set in stone. As you collect data and see which questions drive the most visibility, you can adjust your configuration - remove underperforming prompts, add new ones from the Suggested prompts tab, or import a fresh batch via CSV.
The best Chatbeat projects are the ones that evolve alongside your AI visibility strategy.
Please note that results for new questions will only be collected from the moment they are added onward - no historical data is available at this time. If you need help choosing the right prompts for your project, don't hesitate to contact us.
