How to Create a New Project in Chatbeat

A step-by-step guide to setting up your first AI visibility tracking project

Written by Urszula Kucińska

Setting up a new project in Chatbeat takes just a few minutes. Once it's live, Chatbeat will start collecting data from up to 9 AI models - so you can see exactly where your brand ranks in AI-generated answers.

Here's how to get started.

Step 1: Go to All Projects

After logging in, you'll land on the All Projects page. This is your home base - it shows all the projects you've created so far, along with their creation dates.

To start a new one, click the Add new project button in the top-right corner.

Step 2: Enter Your Brand's Domain or Name

You'll be asked to enter the domain of the brand you want to track (e.g. brand24.com).

If you'd prefer to track by brand name instead of a domain, simply click "Want to enter a brand name instead? Click here!" at the bottom of the screen. This will switch the form so you can type the brand name directly (e.g. Brand24).

Once you've entered it, click Next.

Step 3: Choose the Prompts You Want to Monitor

This is the most important step. Chatbeat will automatically generate a list of suggested prompts - questions that people might ask AI models in your industry. These are the queries where your brand could (or should) be appearing.

Review the list and check the prompts that are most relevant to your business. You can also add your own custom questions using the "+ Choose/add questions" option at the bottom.

Tip: Think about what your potential customers would ask an AI chatbot when looking for a product or service like yours. Those are the prompts worth tracking.

Step 4: Set Your Geolocation (Optional)

By default, Chatbeat tracks AI responses globally. However, if your brand targets a specific market, you can narrow the results by selecting a geolocation.

Click the Geolocation dropdown and search for your target country - for example, typing "unit" will show options like United Arab Emirates and United States.

This is especially useful for brands that operate in a specific region and want to see how AI models respond to local queries.

Step 5: Save & Launch

Once you've selected your prompts and (optionally) set a geolocation, click the Save & Launch button to create your project.

What Happens Next

After launching, your project will need a moment to collect data from AI models. You'll see the dashboard loading with your tracked prompts already listed - positions and scores will start populating shortly.

Once the data collection is complete, your dashboard will be fully populated with your Brand Score, Average Position, Share of Voice, and per-model rankings for every tracked prompt.

Keep in mind: The longer your project runs, the more data it collects. Over the following days and weeks, you'll see trends forming - giving you a clear picture of how your AI visibility evolves over time.

That's it - you're all set! If you have any questions or need help configuring your project, don't hesitate to contact us.
